NUMO
A magazine called "numo" aims to provide young university students with dynamic, accessible, and simple content to help them understand the financial world, various types of markets, and tools that contribute to achieving financial autonomy.CREATED BY: ANA CRISTINA FELLIPELLI, EDUARDO DAL MAS EULÁLIO, JOÃO ABREU, AND VICTORIA DAUD
3RD SEMESTER PROJECT
This project was a significant milestone, as it marked the transition from smaller projects to expanding the scope of our creations. During the briefing, we were given the theme of education, in which we had to identify a target audience and develop an idea around it. We had some discussions to refine the idea and realized, by observing our college environment, that young people needed to understand the basics of the financial world. However, we encountered a challenge: we had to approach this topic in a light and appealing way for this audience.
After various analyses, we identified a lack of breathing space in finance magazines in general. We felt overwhelmed by information and lost in the layout used. With this in mind, we aimed to address this issue by using generous white space to provide greater reading comfort and allow room for readers' notes.
However, we were lacking content that resonated with young people. Through various typography studies, we discovered the use of collages, which brought both a post-modern and experimental feel to the magazine. After experimenting with digital options, we realized that something was missing, and that was texture in the magazine. So, we chose to create hand-made collages, bringing the look of crumpled or cut paper to the project.
In the end, we managed to meet the delivery deadlines and achieved a result that not only fulfilled the briefing but also had an experimental aspect, providing space for us to delve deeper as design students. The most significant lesson I learned from this work was teamwork and how to reconcile different perspectives in a project.
